What comics are you reading?
A-hem, spit it out guys!!! What amazing comics are you reading and not sharing with your fellas? I bet it's awesome! I shall start, because I'm like that: the first of the last!
Let's see... Well, I can't denny I'm reading World War Hulk, but I swear I'm not on it... Just that *I can't leave the story without reading till the end* thing... I'm not even linking that thing, it's so pop it hurts my feelings T_T
Now we are talking. This comic is so ace (and I apologize for linking a faaaaar away from the brazilian edition cover, it's just awesome, damn!), I would spend all my money on it without even feeling bad. I read and reread it so many times I almost know the speeches by heart XD. No doubts 100 bullets is one of the top comics rolling nowadays...
Also amazing. Y: the last man is still on #1 here in Brazil, but from what I had read further on the nets (yeah, i'm a spoiler person, what can I do?), it's promissing and amazing. I'm totally curious with the story and can't wait to read the rest *_*
That's all for now, how about you, guys... what are you reading? Huuuuuuum?

Re: What comics are you reading?
Pretteh old, from 2004, but still full of win Kinetic is! It was hell to find those comics but damn.. totally worth it. I won't lie that I reread at least issues #1 to #5 everyday... It amazes me to a superior lvl, damn.. so.... Donnie Darko like it hurts my alternative heart, in a good way. Everybody should read this, it's amazing. (And the style is very experimental as well <333)
Re: What comics are you reading?
Requiem The Vampire Knight/ Requiem, Chevalier Vampire, An ongoing comic about a nazi who died in Russia and reincarnated as a vampire on an hellish perversion of earth with inverted continents and where all water is blood. The theme might not strike everyone's fancy but the art is second to none, and the reason why only one book a year appears. If you like Dark romantic, stylish, hellish worlds painted in insane utmost detail, give this a try.
Re: What comics are you reading?
OMG this is totally win! Damn you, experimental comics!!!!! Promethea has all the fancy color and panel play I ever wanted to do, such an awesome reference! Also things related to imagination makes my poor brain explode in happiness! Everybody should give this one a try, it's amazing!
Re: What comics are you reading?
Qyzex: Never heard of that one, but it looks interesting, will sure give it a try!
sloane: Whoa you too! That thing is so awesome!!!! Creepy but full of win! And it has spirals on it har har har *dork*
I'm reading the Extinction saga of X-men. Chris Bachalo is my newest comics hero. I love his lines so much T_T Gotta buy everything he draws. I dunno why his lineart touches my heart like that XD Must be the sharp shapes...

Re: What comics are you reading?
Hellblazer
It's freaking Constantine, do I even have to bother?
Hellboy
Same as above, but substitute "Constantine" with "Hellboy".
Mágico Vento ("Magic Wind")
This is an itallian comic about a half redskin half american shaman and his journalist friend, the whole thing takes place at the wild west and there's a good share of detective suspense, supernatural things and "bang bang". The style is retro-looking and is all done in black and white, like the old Martin Mystery comics.
Lone Wolf and Cub
If you do not know about Lone Wolf and Cub....seriously, do yourself a favor and go read it, now. One of the best and most awesome samurai manga/gekiga ever made, many authors/directors/comickers have already mentioned that they love this manga/gekiga. Notable names are: Quentin Tarantino, Gendy Tartakovsky, Frank Miller and I'm pretty sure many, many more.
Mushishi
A manga about supernatural beings known as "mushi", it is rather similar to Hellboy in that each chapter is self-contained and feels like a legend. Obviously, heavily based on japanese weird legends.
Akumetsu
A series about a very badass type of anti-hero terrorist with the unique power of not dying when he dies. Seriously, good stuff.
Zetman
Ever heard of this? You know an old one-shot by Masakazu Katsura, of Video Girl Ai and DNA² fame.
Well, then forget everything you knew about it, since in this new serialization the overall feel is much more dark and serious. Also, his art has evolved so much it's amazing!
BLAME!
Ignore the fact that Nihei might not be the best mangaka to make stories that truly make sense and draw characters that do not look alike and focus on his pretty unique narrative and awesometastic scenarios.
A must for anyone who likes cyberpunk scenarios.
Fullmetal Alchemist
If you watched the anime, then forget you ever did and read the manga, it is a bazillion times better, trust me.
The manga is much more serious and dark than the anime, to the point of oftenly feeling more like a seinen (adult manga) than a shounen (adolescent manga for males).
Kekkaishi
Another one that oftenly feels more like a seinen than a shounen due to dark atmosphere, overall mature story and age of involved characters.
Pluto
Ever heard about Tetsuwan Atom?
Ok, maybe not, but what about Astro Boy?
I'm sure you did; and before you turn your nose due to its age and overall childish look, let me say that despite it, it is a very dark and serious story, Osamu Tezuka only had to "tune it down" in order to make some success since the audience from that time wasn't ready yet for an overly serious and gloomy manga.
However, this series is actually made by Naoki Urasawa, of Monster and 20th Century Boys fame, he can make suspense mangas like feel that will make you shake your fist with might when you're unable to read the next chapter. The whole story is, amazingly, based on just a part of the original Tetsuwan Atom story and the protagonist is not Atom/Astro, but the german detective robot Gesicht instead.

Re: What comics are you reading?
Blade of the immortal : Read it, I command you. The style is so sketch awesome and so are the fight stances awwwww This comic is pure win, I swear!
Re: What comics are you reading?
Damnnn Dark Tower started selling around here already !?!?
I've read the books, so how the hell did I miss this?!?!
Dark Knight Returns.
Yeah, I've read it because of the movie. SILLY ME since the movie is based on ANOTHER comic eh.
Still, I think it's pretty awesome, and that means a lot coming from me, a super hero comic hater.
Soul Eater
Started reading it because it's style is quite charming, and while reminiscent from regular mangas, it's VERY stylish. Sad the story is lame for quite a bit, but it gets (slightly) better later. Besides, you can't complain when there is ACTION, GRAPHICS and FAN SERVICE.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean (part 6)
This is the sixth arc of THE BEST MANGA EVER. Each arc of it has it's own characters and villains, though it generally have in the good boys people from the joestar family, and in the villain side, someone related to the Mothereffing badass vampire DIO, a real war worth of more than a century in the manga's timeline, and 20 years in our existence.
It is an horror manga in the early arcs, and become bizarrier with each chapter!
(it's also the major ripoff victim of Shaman King)
I'm also reading JoJo part 7: Steel Ball Run. Those two arcs can be read separately, as in arc 7 the entire jojo world is being rewriten from the start. Arc 7 is still being released in japan, and both 6 and 7 have been slowly being translated into english by fanscanlators.

Re: What comics are you reading?
I've caught up with Pluto and so now I'm reading 20th Century Boys~ There's actually a live-action movie out, so I'm hoping that I can read some before it gets subtitled. I will also probably scarf up the first volume of Black Jack as soon as it comes out. Urasawa and Tezuka are my undisputed favorites when it comes to manga, so right now my mission is to read all of their stuff!!
As for American stuff, I've read some Batman comics... I recently read Year One and loved it, so I'm on to DK and DK2.
I've also been reading a lot of Iron Man and Hellboy, and re-read WANTED and Watchmen, since they're pretty much the most awesome books ever.
However, if I had to pick one series that was my favorite out of all the American comics that I have read, I would pick Hellboy. I just love Mignola's distinctive style and the characters are really loveable<3

Re: What comics are you reading?
I'm reading it way too much.... I adore the style and all the characters are so selfish and and arhhhhh Noir is the best frechman ever, so sarcastic! You guys must read this, it's win! Aliens + EGO = awesome sauce.
Re: What comics are you reading?
Lately,I've been reading Claymore i was just curious you know, now i just can't stop reading it, a female silver-eyed warrior race, what a kick ass story!! =D
Also i'd say one of the coolest i've read is Bad Boy by Frank Miller and Simon Bisley
And of course, Sam Noir : Samurai Detective (the title says enough huh?) by Manny Trembley

I just read that too, Obata is fucking awesome. Read "Hello Baby" and "Bakuman" and "Uroboros" too if you get a chance, all amazing comics by Obata.
Those are what i've been reading lately actually, haha, they are all masterpieces artistically and very skilled writing wise.
Re: What comics are you reading?
I liked it better when I was addicted to underground comics T_T But.... the A: Initiative has Trauma... I can't help, I'm such a fat dork >_<
I liked Alive! almost as much as I liked Kinetic. I have a crush for psionic powers ow dear.... The story is simple but the atmosphere does it for me, very catchy read.
Alive, the last evolution is not something I would point as *the most awesome thing I ever read lol lol*, but still an interesting ready. It has it's ups and downs, but once again, I'm biassed when it comes to mind powers, can't help. Read at your own risk, at least it's not super cliche.
Re: What comics are you reading?
Made. Of .Win. American Virgin is so rad it burns, seriously. Old, but awesome still.
Re: What comics are you reading?
Bakuman
From the guy who did Death Note it's a great story about 2 highschool kids who want to be magakas, it really gets you in the mood to draw some comics.
Zombies vs Robots vs Amazons
the title says it all, from Ashley Wood who as some of the most awsome art in our days.
